Travelodge by Wyndham Swift Current

I drive between Toronto and Vancouver a few times a year. For the past two years, whenever I pass through Swift Current, I've stayed here, as its a cheaper alternative compared to other motels in the neighbourhood. Even though it’s an older property, I find it relatively clean and well-kept. The motel is very conveniently located close to the highway service road, and I think its worth the money I pay for. I especially recommend the luxury room in Building A, which is pretty much the one I've stayed at so far. The owner told me that building was recently renovated, so it’s spacious, clean, and quiet.

The owner was very nice and friendly. The room was sparkling and smelled great. The room had cups, a fridge, a microwave and an excellent air conditioner. I requested a bathtub and laminate floors as I noticed in the pictures that some of the rooms have carpet and/or standing shower only, and the room was exactly as I requested. The towels were super soft, the shower was great, as was the linen, pillows and bed. I was surprised of the value I got for the money. The only thing missing was a coffeemaker and mugs. The wifi signal was too weak for my phone to connect, but there was a lot of channels on the tv. 10/10 would stay there again!

A little old motel, but very clean double room. Room space 23m2 was big enough to stay for two people. The staff was kind and friendly. Price was nice as well.

I ended up here on the evening of Jan 31st, 2022. I was on my way to a destination further east and got stuck in what was arguably a blizzard. By the time I got to Swift Current it was approaching 8 pm and the hotels were pretty much all booked. Is the Rainbow Motel amazing? No, it's an independent highway side motel. What it did do was probably save me from dying on the road or sleeping in my SUV. I'm not being dramatic, the weather was hellish. The staff was super nice and prepared me for my room. No punches were pulled. I really appreciated that. Also, despite full well knowing that people were desperate for shelter, the room prices remained extremely reasonable. The room was warm, functional and kept me alive. Pretty sure it was haunted as the room light came on by itself twice around 3 am. If that's your jam, ask for room 114.
